Today we worked on a small sensory farm bin made out of card stock. The point of this activity was for my daughter to recognize the letters on each card.
Materials
Farm Bin Print Out
Glue or Tape
Cardstock
Wooden Letters or Magnetic Letters
Popcorn Kernels
Plastic Animals
Animal Print Out
I found the farm animals and the popcorn kernels at the dollar tree. I also found this cute Farm Animal book at the dollar store plus it came with a music CD. We enjoyed reading it before and after our activity.
Once I printed, cut and laminated both print outs I filled the Farm Bin with popcorn kernels. I hid the animal cut out with its corresponding animal making sure the name of the animal was exposed. We identified each letter then I asked her to pull out each card so she could see what animal was hiding inside the bin.
I tried giving her the letters in the right order. I also mixed up the letters and had her try to place them in the right order. She then looked thru the popcorn kernels to find the hidden animal. She really enjoyed looking for the hidden animals the most, which she though were playing hide and seek with her.
